Collection: pseudoHUMAN Sculpture
Fantastical creatures and hybrids combined with stones, minerals, and organics, all copper electroformed in the studio. Limited editions and one of a kinds. Some are made to order. If you see something you love that's sold out, let me know, I can probably conjure up a sibling.
*most bones/skulls/parts are first made in the studio using imagination, natural history museum archives, countless hours of design, 3-d resin printing, and assemblage.
When real bones or feathers are used, they are legally and ethically sourced.
*The electroforming process includes making a conductive paint with which I coat each piece. The pieces are then submerged in an electrified electrolyte bath for 24-96 hours where copper is slowly deposited. After each piece is fully encased in copper, it is given various patinas and polished with 3-4 different polishing compounds to achieve the look I want. Because I make my own raw materials, down to the design of the ring bases, all of the pieces are unique to Lily In Flux. I think of copper electroforming as a kind of alchemy: a mix of science, art, and a little magic.
